Jacksonville Jaguars GM James Gladstone has announced his arrival to the rest of the NFL with a splashy trade to kick off the 2025 NFL Draft.

In his first draft as an NFL general manager, Gladstone got the Browns to send the No. 2 overall pick, a fourth-round pick (No. 104), and a sixth-round pick (No. 200). In return, the Jags traded the No. 5 overall pick, a second-round pick (No. 36), a fourth-round pick (No. 126) and their 2026 first-round pick to the Browns.

With the No. 2 overall pick, Gladstone selected two-way star and Heisman Trophy-winner, Colorado CB/WR Travis Hunter.

"I'm just super excited, you know, I get to go back home," Hunter said on NFL Network. "But it's also somewhere I want to play."

Hunter said he had no conversations with the Jaguars outside of the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, which makes this selection an even bolder move for the first-year GM in Gladstone.

No. 3 overall, Round 1

Scouting Report: "We've never seen a unicorn player quite like Travis Hunter. He's the top player in the NFL Draft at both wide receiver and cornerback, with the potential to rank at the top of the league at either position before his rookie extension hits. His elite athleticism, ball skills, competitive toughness, and instincts make him a deadly playmaker on offense and defense. It's a team-by-team decision on where he should play at the NFL level, but it shouldn't be a surprise if he's a top five player either way early in his career." – A to Z Sports' AJ Schulte

Why does this move make sense for the Jags?

This Jaguars team has many needs, and Hunter kills two birds with one stone as a two-way player. He might be the best wide receiver and cornerback in the class all rolled up into one. He's one of the few blue-chip, elite players in the 2025 NFL Draft, and Gladstone made sure that in his first draft as general manager, he came away with a piece to help point this team in the right direction moving forward.
