NASHVILLE – The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft is in the books and quarterback Shedeur Sanders is still undrafted.

Sanders' fall was one of the biggest storylines of Thursday night. After not being selected by the New Orleans Saints in the Top 10 or the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21, it became a notable storyline. But after the New York Giants traded back into the first round and chose Jaxson Dart over Sanders, it became a headline.

Now, with Sanders still on the board heading into Day 2, the Tennessee Titans are set up perfectly to cash in on Friday.

Sanders gives Titans trade leverage

The Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans will be the two teams to pick ahead of the Titans on Friday night. There's a chance Cleveland takes Sanders off the board. There's a chance either one of those teams moves out while a QB-needy team moves up. But if Sanders is still undrafted when Tennessee gets on the clock at No. 35, it would give them a ton of leverage in a trade.

Cleveland is also sitting on pick 36. With the Browns in need of a QB and sitting right after Tennessee, I could easily see the New Orleans Saints or Pittsburgh Steelers ebing motivated to jump up for Sanders.

If the Titans want to move back five spots to No. 40 in a deal with the Saints, there will still be plenty of really talented players there for the taking.

EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku, WR Jaylin Noel, WR Luther Burden, RB TreVeyon Henderson, CB Trey Amos, EDGE Landon Jackson, EDGE JT Tuimoloau, S Nick Emmanwori , WR Jayden Higgins, and EDGE Princely Umanmielen. That's 10 players right there. At least a few of those are guaranteed to be on the board at No. 40 and almost all of those players would fill an immediate need for the Titans.

The first round played out really well for Tennessee. Only two running backs went. Only two quarterbacks went. 13 offensive lineman and defensive tackles were picked. The edge rushers and wide receivers got pushed down the board. So did some big name quarterbacks like Sanders, who are great trade bait.
