Heading into year two with Mike Denbrock as the offensive coordinator, the Notre Dame offense is expected to make a massive step in the 2025 college football season. Most Irish fans will want to spend the majority of time talking about the quarterback battle, and for good reason. It’s uncertain if CJ Carr, Steve Angeli, or Kenny Minchey will end up starting in the fall. Whoever wins will determine a lot.

Outside of that quarterback battle, we also saw several offensive players have strong springs, which could set them up to playing bigger roles next season. Here are some of those standouts to know. This could determine just how good the offense ends up being, and could hold the key to another deep playoff run.

TE Eli Raridon

Everyone knew that Raridon was going to play a huge role heading into the 2025 season. He is the most experienced tight end on the roster with Mitchell Evans heading to the NFL. With the injury to Cooper Flanagan, the expectations have taken on an even higher level. Raridon met head on with those expectations, and looks like he could be poised for a breakout this fall. He looks big, fast, and fully healthy. It could be a big season for him.

WR Will Pauling

Wide receivers were under the microscope this spring, but unfortunately the position didn’t take the massive jump most expected. We all already knew what Jaden Greathouse and Jordan Faison could do, but the depth was a bigger question, especially with Virginia transfer Malachi Fields not arriving until the summer. None of the younger wide receivers made a huge step forward. Instead, the former Wisconsin transfer steadily had a strong spring as he got up to full speed. It looks like Pauling could be playing a bigger role in 2025 than most initially expected.

OL Sullivan Absher

While Absher isn’t expected to be a starter for 2025, it looks like he could be setting himself up to be a very important swing player this season. We have seen the redshirt sophomore play offensive n tackle, guard, and even at center during practice. There is no doubt that someone is going to get banged up at some point, and Absher could end up being the first man off the bench. He could prove to be very important to this team.
