A former Tennessee Vols defensive back who recently entered the NCAA transfer portal is reportedly set to visit a Big 10 program.
According to 247Sports, former Vols safety John Slaughter is visiting the Purdue Boilermakers.
Slaughter, a former three-star recruit, signed with Tennessee during the 2023 recruiting cycle.
The Mississippi native played in 23 games for the Vols during his two seasons in Knoxville, totaling six tackles, one tackle for loss, and one interception.
Slaughter's lone interception as a Vol came in Tennessee's win against UTEP last season.
Earlier this offseason, Purdue landed former Tennessee wide receiver Nathan Leacock as a transfer addition. Leacock, however, reentered the NCAA transfer portal this week after going through spring practice with the Boilermakers.
As for Slaughter, he'll have two years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
