One of the biggest risers from the 2024 season was Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron. Some expert evaluators have him mocked inside the top 10 of Thursday evening's 2025 NFL Draft.

The Jim Thorpe Award winner showed more playmaking and versatility as a senior than anyone else in the country. He left no doubt about his standing in this class, but it's possible he doesn't get picked as high as some project.

If not, Yahoo's Charles Robinson believe's he's an ideal trade up target for one Super Bowl contender, in particular.

He went as so far as to say the Buffalo Bills could trade up with the Pittsburgh Steelers to help address their massive need for a starting cornerback. Here are the details.

If Texas corner Jahdae Barron gets to the 21st pick in the draft, I could absolutely see the Bills calling and inquiring about moving to 21 from 30. It’s worth noting the Bills have two second-round picks to help them climb up the board if they see an opportunity present itself in the first round.

Buffalo recently signed veteran Tre'Davious White back to the roster for almost $7 million, and the duo of Christian Benford and Taron Johnson is quite good. However, the Bills love using multiple coverages and White's health history is concerning.

Barron can likely move over to safety in subpackages, if need be.

With five interceptions and 11 pass breakups, he ranked among the top players in his class for combined ball production. His strength lies in his ability as a slot defender, adept at monitoring the quarterback and capitalizing on errant throws or deflections, rather than functioning as a conventional trail corner who depends on physical attributes like length and speed.

Here's what our Ryan Roberts had to say about Barron's outlook in his scouting report.

"While there may be more exciting defensive backs in the 2025 NFL Draft class, there aren’t many more high floor players than Barron. He profiles to a zone based system on the outside, but has starter upside in that specific system. Inside at nickel, Barron has plus starter upside and could have Pro Bowl potential as he develops.

Barron will not be for everyone, but for the right team, he should be a tremendous football player. His zone instincts, on top of his natural competitiveness, and urgency will be a huge sell to an NFL team on the next level. Barron is as solid as they come."
