David Stone, a local kid from Oklahoma City, was a consensus five-star recruit and the centerpiece of Oklahoma’s 2024 recruiting class. As a true freshman in 2024, Stone played in all 13 games, recording six tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack across 94 snaps.

Despite limited production, his size, athleticism made him a projected key contributor for 2025, especially after bulking up during spring practice. Stone expressed optimism about his development, and media and coaches have said a few different times that he has already improved.

But, it wasn't all good for too long. Earlier this week, Stone entered the transfer portal. This doesn't mean that he will leave, but that there is a high chance he will. NIL compensation seems to be the reason being reported most on why he is heading towards the door. We don't know all of the details or even the true reason why, but we do know that the Sooners are preparing for the worst by sending out some offers to other kids at the same position.

Sooners send offer to Siolaa Ricky Lolohea

Siolaa Ricky Lolohea, a 6’3”, 305-pound defensive tackle, is a rising name in the 2025 college football transfer portal. He began his college career at Oklahoma State in 2022 but saw limited action, appearing in just one game as a true freshman.

Seeking more playing time, he transferred to Utah State in December 2023, where he redshirted his freshman season and played as a redshirt freshman in 2024. His size, strength, and untapped potential have made him an attractive prospect for Power Four programs, which is why Oklahoma is offering him now.

At Utah State in 2024, Lolohea played in eight games, recording 10 tackles, including 1.0 tackle for loss. While his stats are modest, his physical presence on the defensive line and ability to clog running lanes showed promise. His performance, combined with his prototypical nose guard frame should help him become a pretty big contributor wherever he is, especially when playing in the run game.
