The Denver Broncos selected Texas Longhorns cornerback Jahdae Barron in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night, which came as a bit of a surprise to some.

There is more work to be done on Day 2, and Denver has a couple of obvious needs. The Broncos have one pick in the second round (No. 51) and one in the third round (No. 85). Let's take a look at their top remaining needs on Friday night.

Running back

This is Denver's clear-cut biggest position of need. The Broncos have to find a three-down RB who can not only run the ball well, but contribute as a pass catcher and a pass protector.

Guys they currently have on the roster such as Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime can make for good change of pace RBs, but shouldn't be getting a significant number of snaps. Fortunately, there are still plenty of good RBs remaining for Denver to choose from – such as TreVeyon Henderson, Quinshon Judkins, and Kaleb Johnson.

Wide receiver

The Broncos' passing attack is in decent shape with WR Courtland Sutton and tight end Evan Engram, but they could really use a legitimate No. 2 to complement Sutton. Marvin Mims Jr. and Devaughn Vele are solid rotational guys, but aren't well-rounded enough to consistently be on the field. Some of the top WRs still left on the board include Luther Burden III, Jayden Higgins, and Tre Harris.

Interior defensive line

With Zach Allen, John Franklin-Myers, and Malcolm Roach all entering the final year of their contracts, Denver badly needs some depth at both defensive end and nose tackle.

If the Broncos spend a Day 2 pick on one of those positions, the player they select could push for a starting job right off the bat. Even if they don't, Denver has to get out ahead of addressing these future needs. Some names to watch for are Darius Alexander, T.J. Sanders, and Omarr Norman-Lott.

Tight end

Denver signed Evan Engram to a two-year deal earlier this offseason, but keep in mind that he is now 30 years old and coming off a season in which he missed eight games due to injuries. Even if Engram is healthy and productive for the Broncos, it doesn't hurt to have a nice one-two punch at TE and provide quarterback Bo Nix with another weapon. Keep an eye on names like Elijah Arroyo, Mason Taylor, and Gunnar Helm.
