Jeremy Chinn makes one thing clear about the Las Vegas Raiders after a few weeks of OTAs
The Las Vegas Raiders added some really good pieces to their team this offseason, pieces that should make them much better in 2025 than they were in 2024. But, as we have said a million times by now, that won't be hard to do. Last year, the Raiders won four games, and at times, were […]
The Las Vegas Raiders added some really good pieces to their team this offseason, pieces that should make them much better in 2025 than they were in 2024. But, as we have said a million times by now, that won't be hard to do.
Last year, the Raiders won four games, and at times, were unwatchable. Of course, we still watched, because we are all psychos who love football. But, they were that bad. A change of regime, with former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll at the helm, who has won a Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos and went to another one against the New England Patriots, should instantly make this team better. That change alone is enough to guarantee a few more wins.
But the roster changes certainly help, too. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant GM John Spytek has taken over as the new GM, and he's put together a roster that is better on paper than last year, but also a roster that has one thing in common: A bunch of dogs who just want to win.
"We have a lot of competitors," new safety Jeremy Chinn told reporters earlier this week at OTAs. "This team, we're going to compete, like even today, just going back and forth with the offense and just competing against those guys. We're just going to make each other better. So, it's great having a group of guys that can just iron sharpen iron."
The Raiders needed to bring in guys that fit the culture, because, let's face it, the culture before was not good. And, I don't care what anyone says about Antonio Pierce having a good culture or being a good culture coach. You can go back and read the stuff that was being rumored and reported to come out of the locker room, and say it wasn't a good culture. A good, cultured team never lets something like that happen
When you're a team in the position that the Raiders are in, hungry for an improved season, and one that shows at least flashes of a team being able to make the postseason, you have to get those kinds of players on your team. And, Chinn makes it clear that the Raiders are full of guys who want to compete.
So far, things are looking good, but there is still a long way to go.

The Raiders need someone like that.
