Pittsburgh Steelers' signing of Aaron Rodgers should turn the page to trade talks involving disgruntled Pro Bowl wide receiver

Aaron Rodgers is now a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and that means the team has gone all in on 2025.  And that's fine. But if that's the case, then solving the WR #2 issue should now be a top priority, alongside locking up T.J. Watt.  There just so happens to be a two-time Pro […]

And that's fine. But if that's the case, then solving the WR #2 issue should now be a top priority, alongside locking up T.J. Watt.

There just so happens to be a two-time Pro Bowler who is a little upset with his current team, and would be a perfect fit for the Steelers…

Steelers should go all in on Terry McLaurin

Sources: Commanders All-Pro WR Terry McLaurin has made it clear to the team that he’s frustrated with the lack of progress on a long-term deal. As I previously reported, McLaurin unexpectedly left voluntary workouts after initially attending, and it remains to be seen whether he’ll report for mandatory minicamp.McLaurin is entering the final year of his contract. Talks have been minimal.Offseason programs are critical for young QBs, and as Jayden Daniels looks to build on a strong rookie season, it’s surprising the team hasn’t prioritized a new deal for McLaurin — especially after the All-Pro WR’s career year.

Look, I know people will push back and say, 'Really, let's trade for and sign another WR who wants a new deal, this time for a player who will soon turn 30, give me a break.' But if not now, then when? This is my rebuttal.

Do you think that the Steelers gathered together as a unit for the first time all year over the course of the last two weeks at OTAs, saw their playmaking unit and then coincidentally were involved in trade talks for Jonnu Smith, Kyle Pitts, and worked out Gabe Davis?

No. The team watched that group gather, and they said, 'Boy we are a DK Metcalf sprained ankle away from one of the league's worst pass catching units.' Sure you hope that Roman Wilson comes to form. From the looks of it, he's had an excellent offseason, coming back bigger, stronger and faster than his rookie campaign. But betting on a player who has a total of 1 game in which he logged snaps, to be your WR #2 is a risky proposition.

So no more half in, half out. In the Steelers' eyes, they have their quarterback. They have their best offensive line in years. They still have a core of defenders who are among the best at their posotion group, and they have rid themselves of their headaches.

It's time to go all in and make it happen. Whether that's Terry McLaurin, or whoever else.
