Now that the Pittsburgh Steelers have cemented their quarterback room, the next step is solidifying their pass-catching unit.

We know the team was refubbed on trade talks from a pair of NFC South teams regarding the acquisition of Chris Olave and Chris Godwin.

However, they are still snooping around the division, with a certain member of the Atlanta Falcons also on their radar…

Steelers interested in trading for Kyle Pitts

"They've inquired about some other weapons, and I know we're talking about receivers, talking about pass catchers," Rapoport said on Good Morning Football via SD. "They've had their eyes on some tight ends too. Jonnu Smith, there was a phone call there. Kyle Pitts, there was a phone call there. The Steelers are in the market, it seems, for at least one more playmaker."

At some point, whether it be as soon as during this week's minicamp, or as late as November's midseason trade deadline, the Steelers will add another contributor to their pass catching unit.

You can't construct the team they have, and have the belief they have in their current roster, and go into the season hoping that Roman Wilson, Calvin Austin III, and Robert Woods are good enough opposite of DK Metcalf.

Maybe that's a Terry McLaurin or Jonnu Smith trade. Maybe it's Kyle Pitts. Maybe it's waiting until camp to see what comes from other contract situations or teams looking for draft capital after a bad first half of the season. I'm not sure when, but the question of if shouldn't exist.

What I do know is that the one foot in, one foot out approach of going all in on a Super Bowl with this team, while playing for the future, is going to end up with the team looking at another 9-8, 10-7 – win season and draft pick in no mans land while desperately needing a quarterback.

Going and finding that second dynamic player on the perimeter will, at the very least, show the veterans on the team and the fanbase that they truly are all-in on winning their 7th Lombardi.
