Green Bay Packers fans will never forget when Aaron Rodgers played at Soldier Field and screamed that he owned the Chicago Bears. Rival fans won't forget that either. Years later, and two seasons removed from his trade out of the Packers, the veteran quarterback still has an obvious connection with his old team.
During a Q&A with fans and artist Mike, formerly known as Mike Stud, in Austin, Texas, Rodgers didn't miss the chance to take a jab at the rival.
"The best thing about Bears fans is every year, 'This is our year, this is our year. We added this guy and that guy. And we got a new coach from Detroit. Oh man, look out.' Right? Packers fans, we know that," Rodgers said. "What does every coach that signs with the Bears say? We gotta beat the Packers, right? The Packers don't give a s***."
The craziest part is that Aaron Rodgers, in fact, had an amazing record against the Bears playing for Green Bay. Combining regular season and playoffs, the quarterback won 25 of his 30 games against Chicago.
That record includes a big playoff win in the NFC Championship Game after the 2010 season, right before the Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.
After two unsuccessful seasons on the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers is now a free agent for the first time in his NFL career. He's mulling about his future, but playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers certainly sounds like the most plausible scenario at this point.
And if that happens, Rodgers will have another opportunity to play at Soldier Field. The Steelers and Bears will face off on Nov. 23, in Week 12. Before that, though, Pittsburgh will host a Sunday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8, which would be Rodgers' first game against his old team.
