The Cincinnati Bengals' fifth Ring of Honor class has an official induction date.

Two legendary former Bengals will be inducted on Oct. 26 during halftime of Cincinnati's Week 8 home game against the New York Jets.

The Bengals opened their Ring of Honor in 2021 and inducted Paul Brown, Anthony Munoz, Ken Anderson, and Ken Riley as inaugural members. In the three years since, Willie Anderson, Isaac Curtis, Corey Dillon, Boomer Esiason, Chad Johnson, and Tim Krumrie have been enshrined with their names displayed inside Paycor Stadium. Two of the following names will join the list later this year:

  • Jim Breech
  • James Brooks
  • Cris Collinsworth
  • David Fulcher
  • Dave Lapham
  • Max Montoya
  • Lemar Parrish
  • Bob Trumpy
  • Reggie Williams

This is the first year the induction ceremony in Paycor Stadium will take place during a game scheduled for early afternoon. Kickoff between the Bengals and New York is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET. that Sunday. The first four ceremonies occurred during home games played on "Thursday Night Football" or "Monday Night Football" in previous seasons. Cincinnati won three of those four games with the lone loss happening last season to the Washington Commanders.

Change for the entire event is also on the horizon for the future.

Bengals tease changes to Ring of Honor starting next year

The fifth class of inductees will be selected from the same pool of former players that was first introduced back in 2021. That and more could be changing for the class of 2026 and beyond according to the club's announcement.

“After this year, the Bengals will review and explore ways to reshape aspects of the Ring of Honor to ensure it remains relevant and sustainable now and into the future. More information on potential changes will be announced next year ahead of 2026 Bengals Ring of Honor voting.” – Bengals.com

This could mean a variety of alternations are coming. 12 names will have been inducted by this time next year. In order to maintain exclusivity, the team may reduce the number of new inductees to one per class, or simply save inductions for every other year or create an even larger gap.

New names adding to the list of candidates should also be on the table. Geno Atkins, A.J. Green, and Andrew Whitworth are just a few names who've retired more recently than this year's nominees, and they'll eventually need to be added to the ballot.

Cincinnati will announce this year's inductees sometime in the summer.
