Manning's latest foray into viral fame, however, is based on a complete fabrication.
There's a tweet going viral (it has over a million views at the time of this writing) that tells a story about Manning that simply never happened.
The tweet tells a story about Manning supposedly showing up to a random high school graduation and sitting with a kid who was supposedly sitting alone.
The whole thing is an product of AI, including the AI-produced photo that accompanied the tweet.
If you've spent much time on Twitter or Facebook, you've likely seen plenty of these types of posts going around. They're typically shared thousands of times and spread through fan groups like wildfire. It's incredibly frustrating to see these fake stories circulate, because inevitably, some fans will repeat them as if they're true.
Peyton is a good dude, and he's done a lot of great things for folks off he field. He doesn't need AI-generated stories to help his reputation. And fans don't need to keep spreading these fake stories as if they're legitimate.
