The Lions have a chance to sign the best linebacker in the world (outside of America) Detroit looked at him once before

The Detroit Lions have never been afraid to go outside of America to find talent. They've got Giovanni Manu from Canada, Ahmed Hassanein from Egypt. David Bada signed on last year from Germany, and they signed Patrick Murtaugh out of Australia not long ago, too.

That's why it's not crazy to suggest that the Lions could do something really interesting ahead of training camp and sign linebacker Keenan Wolf out of Mexico.

Mexico has a football league? Yes, they do, and the games are pretty fun to watch. The league is called Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional or the LFA for short. Wolf plays for the Gallos Negros de Querétaro. That's the Queretaro Black Roosters for those who don't speak Spanish.

Wolf is not just a good linebacker in Mexico; he's the best linebacker in Mexico. This year, he set the LFA record for most tackles in a game and most tackles in a season.

Wolf is in line to bring home the Defensive Player of the Year award in the LFA this year, and here's the interesting thing. This isn't the first time he's been the best linebacker in a league that's not the NFL. Last season, he was the best linebacker in the German Football League for the Cologne Crocodiles.

Wolf is well-traveled, but he's from right here in America. Wolf is from Fresno, California, and he played his college ball at Moorehead State in the FCS. He was decent there and attempted to get into the NFL ahead of last season.

He joined in on the Eastern Kentucky Pro Day in 2024, and the Lions were one of the teams that showed up to watch him and the rest of the players there.

The LFA season is over for the Gallos Negros as they not make the playoffs. So now Wolf can be signed by an NFL team or any other league like the UFL or CFL. Since the Lions love linebackers and can't get enough of them, perhaps they'd give him a camp opportunity.

One thing that could help him is that he's friends with Lions safety Morice Norris, who is also from Fresno.
