The New Orleans Saints were never going to trade their top wide receiver this offseason. Ahead of Kellen Moore's first campaign as the team's head coach, trading away the best passing game target during a quarterback competition never made sense.
Teams may have called the Saints regarding a Chris Olave trade, but New Orleans was never looking to move on from him – for good reason.
The wide receiver discussed the baseless offseason trade rumors recently.
Saints WR Chris Olave ends trade rumors
When asked about the trade rumors on Thursday, the Saints wideout simply laughed them off. Clearly, they were never truly anything that was legitimately on the table. That was always the case – plain and simple.
“It’s all rumors, man. … Everybody trying to have something for clicks. I love it here, man. I love the front office. I love my coaches. I’m excited to be here and I want to be here forever. This is where I want to be.”

Olave also discussed the injury that ended his season last year. It was a scary situation for him, but he is ready to make a full return for New Orleans. The pass catcher has dealt with at least four known concussions in his three seasons in the pros.
That's an unfortunate trend, but Olave has faith that he's just been a bit unlucky.
"They said I was OK back in December when they cleared me. It was just unlucky situations I was being put in… God's got me at the end of the day. I'm not worried about nothing. So, just got to go out there 100% and be ready." — Olave regarding injury last season
The young wide receiver is ready to be back on the field, and the practice reports from the Saints have pointed to some impressive play from Olave. He seems rejuvenated and hopeful that a long-term starting quarterback can emerge from the competition between Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler.
We'll see if Olave can stay healthy and produce at a high level for Kellen Moore's offense this season. If he does, don't be surprised to see a potential contract extension in the cards.
