One of the Tennessee Vols' most important recruiting visits of the year went down this past weekend when UT hosted 2026 five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys.

Keys, who is rated as the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation, has been committed to the LSU Tigers since March.

The Vols, however, picked up some momentum in their attempt to flip the talented recruit during his visit to Rocky Top this past weekend.

"Tristen Keys is someone that had Tennessee out in front for the longest time," said VolQuest's Austin Price on Tuesday during an appearance on 104.5 The Zone's Ramon and Will. "He ended up committing to LSU for whatever reason, but he has continued to talk to Miami, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and several other schools…I think Tennessee's put themselves in a position there to potentially flip him. I think that the next [few] weeks will help determine that. But for right now, I think Tennessee leaves the weekend feeling pretty good about what they've done with Tristen Keys and what they hope to continue to do."

"Tristen Keys is one that's been up here (to Tennessee) numerous times," added Price. "He knows (wide receivers coach) Kelsey Pope. He knows (head coach) Josh Heupel. Tennessee has been on him rather hardcore. And if you're LSU, you better be trying to reach out to Tristen Keys and talk to him, and keep his mind on the Bayou during his visits to Miami or Tennessee or wherever…..If you're LSU you better stay on top of that one because right now, it certainly feels like the momentum is trending away from LSU. Could it get flipped around? Yeah, but that's hard once that ball gets rolling down the hill."

Keys is the type of game-changer that Tennessee needs in the passing game to truly compete for national championships. He's the type of wide receiver that can be a dominant player in the SEC.

Beating out LSU for a wide receiver, however, won't be easy. The Tigers have a strong argument to be considered WRU after putting numerous elite wide receivers in the NFL over the last several years (Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Brian Thomas Jr, Malik Nabers). That's a tough sales pitch for the Vols to overcome, but it sounds like Tennessee is doing everything in its power to convince Keys that Knoxville is home.

Keys will take an official visit to LSU this upcoming weekend.
