Lanier Coleman was the senior associate director of football strength and conditioning at Florida State from 2020 until early 2025. At FSU, he spent five seasons improving the team’s physical performance, helping them win the 2023 ACC Championship and achieve a 13-0 regular season. His training made the Seminoles tougher and better prepared for tough games, and in Power Five football, that's crucially important.

Before FSU, Coleman worked at Ole Miss for five years as an assistant strength coach. He also coached at Cal (2012-2013), Rice, and Louisiana-Lafayette, where he started as an intern in 2011 after playing college football as a lineman. He tried out for NFL teams like the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans but found his calling in coaching.

Coleman, once a 6-foot-4, 300-pound player, looks intimidating but is known for being approachable and committed. At FSU, he focused on helping freshmen adjust and succeed. He’s worked with NFL talents like A.J. Brown and DK Metcalf from his Ole Miss days, earning praise for his results.

Coleman is now joining the Jacksonville Jaguars' staff for the 2025 season under their new head coach Liam Coen and new general manager James Gladstone. There, he should get a chance to prove himself even more, where his work with the players will be put on a national stage. The Jaguars struggled in certain areas last season so Coleman should be able to help them improve. And, injuries are a huge part of why the Jaguars were so bad the last two years.
