The Philadelphia Eagles have officially replaced quarterback coach Doug Nussmeier, who left to join Kellen Moore in New Orleans as the Saints' new offensive coordinator.

According to Sports Illustrated's Bryan Fischer, the Eagles hired Bowling Green head coach Scot Loeffler to be Jalen Hurts' new quarterback coach, which is an interesting hire.

Loeffler, 50, makes the move back to the NFL after going 27-41 in six seasons at Bowling Green.

"Scot has been dedicated to not only BGSU Football, but to all our student-athletes and BGSU Athletics, as well as our Falcon Marching Band and spirit programs," Bowling Green president Rodney Rogers said in an official statement. "He cares deeply about player development and student success, and we wish him all the best as he continues his coaching career in the NFL with the Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles."

A majority of Loeffler's coaching experience comes from the college, however, he does have one NFL season on his resume. Loeffler worked with quarterbacks at the Detroit Lions in 2008 before going back to college and joining Urban Meyer at Florida in 2009.

While Loeffler, a former Michigan quarterback himself, doesn't have a lot of NFL years under his belt, he has coached plenty of notable quarterbacks throughout the years including, Tim Tebow, Tom Brady, Brian Griese, Logan Thomas, Anthony Brown, Chad Henne, Drew Henson, and John Navarre.

Loeffler will coach under Eagles' new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, who was an internal hire.

The hope is that not much will change for Hurts, who has now worked with five different offensive coordinators and four different quarterback coaches in six seasons.

The good news is that the Eagles have given Hurts plenty of freedom of making the offense his own.
