In 2024, the Florida State Seminoles had their worst season since the 1970s. And, to be quite frank, that just cannot happen again, and I think everyone inside the building would agree.

The Seminoles are already back to putting in the work to try and fix the damage that's been done. When you win just two games in a season, it's hard on your program. You can lose committed players, recruits, and certainly interest from future or potential recruits. Yet, somehow, the Seminoles have a top 10 class in the country right now, with five blue chip players for their 2026 class.

And, now they have landed in the top 10 for another player that would completely change their recruiting class, boosting them up into the top eight in the country, likely.

Seminoles land on Jae Lamar top 10

Jae Lamar is a four-star running back from Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Georgia, and one of the top players in the Class of 2026. He’s 6 feet tall, weighs 205 pounds, and combines power with speed and agility. In his junior year of 2024, he rushed for 885 yards on 112 carries, averaging 7.9 yards per carry, and scored 13 touchdowns. His ability to break tackles and catch passes makes him a standout prospect.

Lamar has over 20 college offers from big programs like Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Miami, Auburn, and Florida State. He’s ranked No. 7 among running backs and No. 11 in Georgia by 247Sports, putting him in the top 100 overall for his class. Georgia is his top choice right now—they’ve been recruiting him hard, and he likes their program—but he’s also considering Auburn, Miami, and Florida State, with visits planned for spring and summer 2025. His cousin, a Miami signee, might pull him that way, but he hasn’t decided yet. Right now, the Seminoles still have a chance.

Scouts praise Lamar for his size, speed, and smarts on the field. He can run through defenders, find gaps, and catch passes out of the backfield. Florida State has a strong connection with him, even after a tough 2024, and he’s got them in his top ten. He’ll pick a school later in 2025, and with his skills, he’s set to make a big splash wherever he goes.

But, if the Seminoles could land him, it could be huge for getting their program and their offense back on track.
