The conversation around the 2025 NFL Draft quarterback class has been exhausting. While it isn’t nearly as bad as the 2022 group, it is definitely a down year behind center. The most talented member of the class is Miami star Cameron Ward, who is liked by some but disliked by many others.

After beginning his career at FCS Incarnate Word, Ward eventually ended up transferring to Washington State. Ward then ended his career with his lone season with the Miami Hurricanes in 2024. In total, he threw for 18,189 and scored 178 total touchdowns.

Many consider Ward to be the top overall quarterback in the 2025 class, and will continue to battle Colorado star Shedeur Sanders to be the first one off of the board. At the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, Ward discussed his college career, journey to the NFL, and everything he brings to the table. That included some conversation about the Cleveland Browns, the team that is starting to be viewed as the front runner for Ward.

"I had the chance to meet with the general manager," Ward told the media. "I finally met the quarterbacks coach in person, and the offensive coordinator as well. They do an unbelievable job on offense getting people open. They have an unbelievable offensive line. Jerry Jeudy is one of the best wide receivers in the league. If I am hoping to go there, I know it’ll work out good."

The Cleveland Browns are in a pretty tough spot. The Deshaun Watson experiment ended up being a disaster. With the questionable job security of head coach Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Berry, would taking a rookie quarterback that may need some time be a great decision? Those are the major questions.

Regardless of your opinion on the fit, the Browns continue to be the team most heavily runored to Ward. The next couple of months are going to be fascinating to watch.
