Former Ohio State star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught a stray shortly after teammate DK Metcalf requested a trade from the Seattle Seahawks. It was a tough day for Seahawks fans after seeing Tyler Lockett released and Metcalf's rapid request going public.

Smith-Njigba didn't make news on his own, but San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir called him out.

“Y’all cannot let DK (Metcalf) Leave. How am I going to have fun out there? Njigba, he be crying all day. That’s all he do is cry…Crybaby.”

Lenoir is also adding some heat to the Oregon vs. Ohio State rivalry. He was a Duck from 2017 through 2020. Smith-Njigba was with the Buckeyes from 2020 through 2022.

JSN is in a great position to become the top target in Seattle moving forward. An All-American at Ohio State in 2021 for his 95-catch, 1,606-yard, and nine-touchdown season, Smith-Njigba showed why he was a first-round pick for the Seahawks in 2024.

He nearly doubled his production from his rookie season, earning 100 receptions for 1,130 yards and six scores. Smith-Njigba led the Seahawks in targets, but the departures of Metcalf and Lockett would open another 181 targets from last year's offense.
