Jacksonville Jaguars center Mitch Morse has announced that he is retiring from the NFL.

"The things I'll remember and cherish most about my career are the relationships and bonds I created with my teammates, both on and off of the field," Morse wrote, via the Jaguars on Instagram. "Nothing can replace that, and I will miss it dearly. I want to thank the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars for ten unforgettable seasons. Most of all, I want to thank my wife, Caitlin, and my children Kennedy and Deacon for their constant love and support on this journey. I look forward to spending more time with them as I navigate retirement."

Morse signed a two-year, $10.5 million contract with the Jaguars last offseason, but will not be finishing out his final year. He started all 17 games last season, surrendering three sacks and ranking 43rd out of 64 qualifying centers via Pro Football Focus.

Morse may not have been quite as good last year as he once was, but he is one of the more underrated centers of his time. He was a second-round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015, starting 49 games during his four-year tenure with them.

He then signed a  four-year $44.5 million contract with the Buffalo Bills, which was the largest contract for a center in NFL history at the time. Morse started 77 games in five season with the Bills before getting released and signing on with Jacksonville.

Morse was a part of some very high-powered offenses with the Chiefs and Bills. Unfortunately, his left Kansas City before it went on their run of winning three Super Bowls, and he experienced many heartbreaking postseason losses in Buffalo. However, Morse should be proud of playing an entire decade in the NFL at a high level, as he started every single game that he appeared in.
