The NFL world can continue to question Micah Parsons' social media habits. But it won't keep him from being vocal about his opinions on everything football related.

On Friday, his mind was set on the business side of things as he sent a somewhat random message regarding football agents, using his own agent David Mulugheta from Athletes First as a positive example.

"Some of these agents don’t have the best interest for y'all man!," Parsons posted in a message seemingly directed to his NFL peers. "Wake up, (agent) David Mulugheta has been showing it time and time again! It’s sad seeing some of these players get violated by teams because of lack of decency and effort by their agents!"

The timing of the message feels random but it came following Clarence Hill Jr.'s report for All City DLLSwhich featured Parsons revealing that no "real talks" have been had with the Dallas Cowboys regarding his imminent contract extension, though his post could be unrelated.

A possible explanation could be Parsons is reacting to the controversial details behind Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins' recent contract extension. Though Higgins became the eighth highest-paid receiver in the NFL, emerging details have shown the Bengals got plenty of control over his future with what are essentially year-to-year club options.

Amid negotiation struggles with the Bengals, Higgins fired Mulugheta before hiring Ja'Marr Chase's agent. Since then, it has become well known that decision kept Higgins in Cincinnati, though some could question at what cost.

Could Parsons' post foreshadow rocky path to striking deal with the Cowboys?

Regardless of what prompted Parsons to hit send on the above post on Friday, it's difficult to avoid thinking about what it means for his own situation. In my view, it simply confirms what we already should've known: He's on the verge of becoming the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

That should be obvious but for a few months now, fans and media members have argued about whether or not he'd take a "hometown discount." Parsons told the media earlier in the year that he didn't have to be the highest-paid player in the NFL. Oftentimes, he discussed getting a deal done quickly for the team to be able to spend freely in free agency. At one point, he even said he'd be willing to take less money if the Cowboys traded for Myles Garrett

However, it's clear Parsons isn't about to sign for less than he's worth and he shouldn't. His message about Mulugheta having the best interest for him proves Micah is going to allow his agent to handle negotiations. That would in turn mean no discount is headed the Cowboys' way.

With that and Hill Jr.'s report on where negotiations stand, Cowboys fans would be smart to brace themselves for a drawn-out process between the front office and their superstar defender. Just last year, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb were forced to take things to the finish line before reaching long-term deals right before the start of the regular season. This might not be any different.

Mulugheta represents several NFL players that have recently received major contract extensions, including Jordan Love, Derek Stingley, Justin Fields, Christian Wilkins, Jaycee Horn, and others.
