The Detroit Lions's process continues en route to the 2025 NFL Draft. They've got a number of pro days out of the way and that includes a stop in Ann Arbor on Friday to watch the Wolverines get on the field and show what they have atheltically.
There's one guy in particular who has already received a lot of attention from the Lions and they want to take an even deeper look. That's edge rusher Josaiah Stewart. He has a top-30 visit set with the Lions.
So far Stewart is the first edge rusher with a confirmed top-30 with the Lions during the process. He also said on Friday that the Lions were one of the handful of teams that have talked to him the most. He also mentioned the Eagles, Vikings, Jets, Raiders, Browns, and Colts.
While Michigan did not have the best season last year after winning the National Championship in 2023, Stewart had his best season as a Wolverine with 37 pressures and nine sacks. Where he really fits the Lions is that he's not only a pass rusher, he can stop the run too. He was very good at that in 2024.
Where can the Lions draft Stewart at? Right now we have his average draft position set at 75.57. That would put him in the early third round. With the Lions drafting at 102, they might need to take him at 60 if they wind up feeling like he's their guy. There have been mocks that have him going in the top of the fourth round though. You never know.
We'll see where things fall in the next month, but the Lions are definitely not doing their due diligence yet.

The Detroit Lions are not joking around when it comes to the secondary. The signed D.J. Reed to start off the party and they got the very good cornerback on a steal. Then they added former second-round pick Rock Ya-Sin on Thursday and now they're adding Detroit native and former fourth-round pick Avonte Maddox to […]
