The Las Vegas Raiders are not playing around. In fact, they are taking it seriously when it comes to implementing the new culture that the new regime want to add. Look at a mixture of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks to see what the culture is.
Pete Carroll and John Spytek have been a part of some pretty great teams and great franchises that have instilled great culture, and that was a huge part of how those teams were as successful as they were.
The Raiders are being tasked with changing the culture. While it may have looked good on the outside, it's clear that the culture Antonio Pierce had was just not working, otherwise, we wouldn't have had the disgruntled players all in the news that we saw.
And, to make sure that their new culture stick, the Raiders are getting rid of anything that doesn't fit with what they want. And, I think we all know one player that just doesn't fit the culture Carroll and his staff want.
On Sunday, the Raiders decided to release starting cornerback Jack Jones, after attempting to trade him that way they could get something in return. No one bit the bait.
We have all heard the negatives about Jones, despite having made some pretty cool plays over the years, especially all of the pick-sixes he's made.
But, with that also came a ton of bad plays he's made. All of the times he had broken coverage, and all of the missed tackles he made, led to other things that got him nowhere. He didn't give 100% effort, and that's frustrating when you have guys like Maxx Crosby who do it every single play, and play 100% of the snaps.
That's not the type of culture the Raiders want, and now, this opens the door to the possibility of the Raiders drafting a cornerback in Round 1.

The Raiders would ace the draft if they did that.
