There's never been a center in Cincinnati Bengals history who's become more popular amongst fans than Ted Karras.
Cincinnati's 2023 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee has endeared himself within the greater Cincinnati community over the course of his three-year run with the Bengals. His work with The Cincy Hat has made him a local icon for a player who plays a position on the field that is never highlighted.
It should come as no surprise to see him take part in one of the city's best traditions.
Ted Karras takes part in Reds Opening Day Parade
The Reds Opening Day Parade is an annual tradition held hours before the Cincinnati Reds' season officially begins. It starts uptown at Findlay Market and eventually reaches downtown closer to Great American Ball Park where the Reds begin the MLB season.
Karras was found on a float by WLWT's Charlie Clifford, whom was able to get some soundbites from the 32-year old offensive lineman.
"This is unbelievable," Karras said of the parade and atmosphere. "Typical Cincy coming up, showing out. Let's go Reds!"
Karras and the Bengals are still in offseason mode as any sort of team practices can't be held until next month when offseason workouts can begin leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft.
"I'm fired up for a big Reds season and excited to be back in a month and get some good work in," Karras said of upcoming voluntary workouts in late April.
"[20]25's coming up, all Bengals baby, all Cincy!"
Karras signed a two-year contract last offseason that keeps him on the roster through this upcoming season. It could very well be his last season in Cincinnati as a player if he choses to keep his career going.
Needless to say, he's fired up about it.
