Another wide receiver is needed in Silver and Black for the Las Vegas Raiders, and preferably a guy who can be a strong No. 2 guy at the position. They have a No. 1 pass catcher in Brock Bowers and a No. 1 wide receiver in Jakobi Meyers.

Now they need a strong supporting cast and a great No. 2 wide receiver. And, that shouldn't be too hard to get, whether it's through what's left of free agency or the 2025 NFL Draft. There are some good options remaining in free agency, but most are on the back end of their careers. As for the NFL Draft, it's not top-heavy with the big names in the draft, but it's pretty deep. You can get some great talent on Day 3.

And, the Raiders could be going the route of free agency, but new head coach Pete Carroll and new general manager John Spytek, could be taking an approach no one would have predicted.

On Friday, they held a visit for a wide receiver who is currently a free agent.

Yes, you read that right. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Raiders are hosting a visit for Hunter Renfrow.

Hunter Renfrow was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft after a successful college career at Clemson, where he won two national championships.

In his rookie year, he had 49 receptions for 605 yards and four touchdowns, proving himself as a reliable slot receiver despite his smaller size (5'10", 185 lbs). His best season came in 2021, when he recorded 103 catches, 1,038 yards, and nine touchdowns, earning a Pro Bowl selection and a two-year, $32 million contract extension with $21 million guaranteed in June 2022.

After his breakout year, Renfrow’s production dropped. In 2022, injuries limited him to 36 receptions for 330 yards, and in 2023, he had just 25 catches for 255 yards as his role shrank with the Raiders. He was released a few seasons ago to try and save the Raiders' cap space, but under this new regime, he could come back.

Over five seasons with the Raiders, he finished with 269 receptions, 2,884 yards, and 23 touchdowns in 73 games. Renfrow, now 29, remains a free agent, and his NFL future is unclear, as he hasn't played football in a while. But that doesn't mean he hasn't been working out.
