We are less than one month away from the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have been fairly active during free agency, with cornerback Jourdan Lewis, offensive guard Patrick Mekari, and safety Eric Murray as their prize signings.
The Jaguars still have a need for some upgrades defensively, as well as some playmakers on offense. They can address a lot of those with their 10 picks in this year's draft. Our A to Z Sports college football writer and draft guru Ryan Roberts released a 3-round mock draft on Friday, so let's take a look at his selections for Jacksonville and analyze them below. . .
No. 5: DT Mason Graham, Michigan
"This pairing has gotten boring for some, but Graham is extremely what the Jaguars need. He’s a physical run defender that plays with bad intentions. This organization needs some of that bad temperament." — Ryan Roberts
Graham has overwhelmingly been mocked to Jacksonville in various mock drafts. As Ryan notes, he is exactly what the Jags need defensively. Graham is a force against both the run and as a pass rusher, and brings big-time intensity on every snap. He is one of the most surefire picks in this year's draft.
No. 36: OT Aireontae Ersery, Minnesota
Ersery is a powerhouse at 6-foot-6 and 331 pounds, but is a bit stiff in his technique and could struggle against athletic pass rushers. However, his quick hands enable him to make first contact against defenders, and Ersery is extremely hard to push back once he has you in his grasp. Ersery could push LT Walker Little or RT Anton Harrison for a starting job, or could provide quality depth as a swing tackle.
No. 70: TE Mason Taylor, LSU
Signing Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long during free agency shouldn't stop Jacksonville from drafting a developmental TE. Taylor has a higher ceiling than both of those guys, and could have a shot of winning the starting job right off the bat in 2025. He a plus athlete who is a mismatch for most defenders and brings yards after the catch ability. Taylor would be the perfect safety blanket for quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
No. 88: S Kevin Winston Jr., Penn State
Winston has all size and athleticism teams covet in a safety, but he lacks experience as he missed most of the 2024 season with a knee injury. Although he likely won't be a starter as a rookie, Winston could get his feet wet as a rotational player on defense and a special teams contributor. Once he gets the experience he needs, he has all the tools to become a starter.
