The Kansas City Chiefs are getting a closer look at a defender getting a lot of buzz after turning heads during the pro day circuit.

As first reported by CBS Sports' Josh Edwards, Tulane DL Adin Huntington has a top-30 visit scheduled with the Chiefs. Huntington spent three seasons at Kent State before transferring to Louisiana-Monroe in 2023 and then to Tulane in 2024.

In 2023 at ULM, Huntington played all across the defensive line, but he primarily moved to the edge during his senior season with the Green Wave. Over the past two seasons, Huntington has amassed 93 total tackles, 21 for loss, 12.5 sacks, 79 pressures, five forced fumbles, and three passes batted.

Weighing in at 6-foot-1 and 281 pounds with nearly 33-inch arms at the Tulane Pro Day, Huntington posted a 38-inch vertical jump, a 126-inch broad jump, and 30 repetitions of 225 on the bench press. Reports on his 40-yard dash range from 4.65s to 4.75s, with a 1.61s-1.70s 10-yard split. He also posted a 4.41s short shuttle and 7.46s three-cone time. Compare those numbers to what was posted at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, and Huntington is one of the top athletes among D-Linemen in this class.

What is a top 30 visit?

If you're unfamiliar with the term, it refers to one of 30 allotted visits teams have during the pre-draft process with draft prospects. The Chiefs bring in prospects, ranging in draft status from potential first-round picks to undrafted players, giving them an introduction to NFL life in Kansas City. While no on-field workouts will occur, teams can get prospects in meeting rooms for film work with coaching staff, do physical examinations with team physicians, tour team facilities, and more.

Some players they've selected in the NFL draft who have had a top 30 visit include Kingsley Suamataia, Rashee Rice, BJ Thompson, Jaylen Watson, Joshua Williams, Nick Bolton, and Juan Thornhill.

How does Tulane DL Adin Huntington fit with the Chiefs?

The Chiefs obviously need some help on the defensive line, from the interior to the edge rush group, for the 2025 NFL season and beyond.

Huntington's evaluation poses a big question: Do the Chiefs view Huntington as an edge rusher, or would they seek to move him inside? His 6-foot-1, 281-pound size and rocked-up frame suggest he could play the Tershawn Wharton role in Kansas City, with Wharton leaving for the Carolina Panthers in free agency. When you look at some of his tape from ULM, it's easy to see the vision there.

The bonus with this prospect is that Huntington might be more versatile than Wharton, given his experience playing the edge rusher position. He could be used situationally as both a defensive end and tackle in Spagnuolo's scheme, whereas Wharton rarely got opportunities to line up beyond 4i.
