Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel gave fans some incredible news on Monday morning.

When speaking with reporters at the 2025 Annual NFL League Meetings in West Palm Beach, Florida, Vrabel was asked about where things stand with star defensive tackle Christian Barmore, who was sidelined for the majority of the 2024 season due to blood clots.

And he revealed that he expects Barmore to participate in the voluntary offseason program that begins on April 7.

"He came in with energy. He showed up the other day to see the doctors," Vrabel revealed. When he walked into the training room, just his energy and presence, so I know that he's feeling better."

In 2023, Barmore enjoyed a career-best season, totaling 8.5 sacks, 64 tackles, and 13 tackles for loss. Because of his efforts, he signed a massive four-year contract extension worth up to $92 million.

However, Barmore was hospitalized with blood clots in July and missed the first ten games of the 2024 season due to the issue. He was activated in the middle of November. But, after four games back, Barmore was placed on the reserve non-football illness list after he experienced some recurring symptoms.

Because of that, it brought into question his status going forward. But, this update is very good news and makes it seem like he's heading towards being able to play again.

"We’ll continue to evaluate him. It’s something very serious, especially when you are talking about something like blood clots. We take the health of our players extremely serious, especially when you’re talking about something like blood clots, and we’re going to have a great plan for him," Vrabel added. "We’re going to do right by him whatever is necessary. However we can get him to help us based on days of practice, based on everything that he needs. And we don’t have that plan yet, but we’re continuing to work through it.”
