CHESTNUT HILL, Mass – Two of Boston College's offensive line prospects entering the 2025 NFL Draft have been working with one New England Patriots legend.
Offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo and center Drew Kendall have been refining their skills by working with Dante Scarnecchia, who served as the Patriots offensive line coach from 1999 to 2019 and won five Super Bowls with New England.
And they both spoke about that experience at Boston College's Pro Day on Monday.
"That's an incredible opportunity. His resume doesn't lie. He's a fantastic coach, so being able to work with him means a lot. He has taught me a lot of stuff. Every O-Line coach is going to have their own techniques and what they believe. He does a great job of saying this is what he teaches, and we run through it. But he also says the second you get to a team, that O-Line coach is going to have what he does," Trapilo said. "Truly a great opportunity to work with him these last few months."
Kendall echoed the tackle's sentiments.
"It's been awesome," Kendall added. "He's a legend. He's a Patriots legend, NFL legend, offensive line guru. So just learning from him and working on a lot of things in my game that I need to focus on, and just sitting down with him, learning from him, learning about his techniques, what he likes out of his players and his style of play. Wherever you go in the NFL, coaches are going to ask you to do certain things so that's really important that I'm learning from Dante and getting to know what he likes."
While Scarnecchia retired in 2020, he hasn't been able to stop helping players become the best offensive linemen they can be. And this is just another example of that.
Trapilo and Kendall really are learning from the best.
