There have been recent discussions on social media regarding New Orleans Saints top wide receiver Chris Olave. That's all they have been – discussions or rumors. There are no facts involved in these talks around the internet.

There's been no reports based in any sort of fact regarding the idea that the Saints are shopping their young wide receiver for draft compensation or other current NFL players. Regardless, we all know how social media can take ea concept and run with it. Clearly, the Saints wideout has noticed these discussions.

Chris Olave reacts to baseless trade rumors

Olave had a simple, but understandable, reaction to the rumors flying around Twitter/X. He simply used laughing emojis to describe his emotion regarding them.

There is basically no reason to assume that New Orleans wants to deal away Olave. They are adding talent through free agency, rather than making moves to break down their roster for a long-term rebuild.

Not to mention, a potential trade away scenario for Olave would include moving up in round one of this year's draft to select their potential quarterback of the future.

Do you actually want to trade your best receiver right before adding a young QB? That would only hamstring his early development in the pros.

That reason, among multiple others, are why this sort of discussions as of now is pointless. The Saints are looking to improve their roster and depth – not trade a budding weapon on offense for new HC Kellen Moore.

All in all, it is a shame that Olave even saw these sort of rumors, if that's what his post was about – which seems likely, but that is the day and age we live in nowadays.
