This is a big one that is bound to make Detroit Lions fans a little excited. The Lions will be hosting Texas A&M edge rusher Shemar Stewart on a top 30 visit.
Stewart had 39 pressures and two sacks for the Aggies last year, and he has had a very nice pre-draft process where he wowed everyone at the Senior Bowl and followed it up with a solid showing at the NFL Combine.
The reason why this is so big for the Lions is that they pick at 28. Stewart is expected to be gone by then. Our current average draft position on him is 15. There have been mocks that have him going as high as the sixth pick in the draft. If they want him, they're going to have to go up and get him.
This is very reminiscent of last year with Terrion Arnold. The Lions brought him in despite the expectation that he would be long gone by the 29th pick. The first 14 players drafted being offensive guys gave the Lions a chance to move up to 24.
That's not likely to happen this time with a lot of defense-needy teams ahead of Detroit. If they do move up, they won't have to go to the top 10, but they might have to go to the top 15. That likely means trading away 28 and future draft picks to try to get this one done. Pay attention to this name for the rest of the month.

He spoke for about 30 minutes, and the guy who kept coming up over and over […]
