The New York Giants need a quarterback. Brian Daboll does not have his answer for that position on the roster right now.

The Los Angeles Rams have a quarterback who could get traded in the coming months of the offseason. Could there be a marriage of tasks between the two franchises?

NFL writer Albert Breer discussed the latest on the Rams-Stafford situation recently for Sports Illustrated. The Giants are attempting to get involved.

Giants' pursuit of Matthew Stafford

According to Breer, the Giants are one of at least four teams that have shown interest in trading for the former Pro Bowl QB.

The teams you’d suspect would have their hat in the ring have, indeed, thrown their hats in the ring. The New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Las Vegas Raiders and others have shown interest. — Breer

That should not be a surprise. The Giants make some sense for the veteran, due to the pressure on HC Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen. Adding Stafford to the mix on their roster may give the offense some life in 2025, as long as they continue to add talent around him.

Breer also mentioned how it is a tough spot for the Rams to be in because there is legitimate interest in Stafford, and he knows it. He's won a Super Bowl. He is still a quality option at the position.

I’m not sure how the Los Angeles Rams and Matthew Stafford put this whole thing back together, but it’s going to take some work this week. And that, as I see it, is because Los Angeles, at this point, is working with a quarterback who knows what his value is to the other teams. — Breer

New York seems to be a potential landing spot for Stafford, and that could have some different reactions from the fan base.

Does adding him really change the outlook for next season or even the one after in an NFC East with the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles?

Maybe. Maybe not. There's only one way to find out, and the Giants are seemingly considering taking that route to attempt to shift focus to their other needs with a proven QB in the room.
