The Pittsburgh Steelers QB carousel continues to go around and around.

As of this week, trading for a player that has a $51m and $61m cap hit over the next two seasons was a real option according to some

But Aaron Rodgers has been floated by many ever since the New York Jets made it official that he would not be back.

And Bill Barnwell of ESPN just made the best case of A-Rod in the Black and Gold Yet…

Rodgers Turnover Friendly Approach Suits Pittsburgh

"Maybe the choice they could make that would be out of the box with it if they wanna break this cycle of not winning playoff games is going after Aaron Rodgers," Barnwell said on Monday; 's edition of NFL Live on ESPN. "Because the formula of what the Steelers do on offense fits what Rogers does best at this point of his career, which is protect the football. The Steelers 35-13 over the last four years when they turn the ball over zero times or one time in a game. They are 3-16-1 when they turn the ball over twice or more. Everyone's better when you protect the football. But the Steelers, it's a significant difference."

The reason the Steelers are so much better when they hold onto the ball is because they are a group of frontrunners, and have been since the end of the Killer B era. The team simply doesn't have the firepower to will themselves back from two or three-score deficits, something that was obvious in the playoff loss against the Baltimore Ravens.

There is also the Mike Tomlin factor here. Not only do he and Rodgers have a history of sharing friendly banter, but the HC is a glutton for ball security. Part of the reason he pulled Justin Fields for Russell Wilson was in part due to some fumbling issues from Fields and Wilson's security, even if that also waned by the end of the year.

It's likely still a long shot that Rodgers plays in Pittsburgh, but Mike Tomin and Art Rooney talked themselves into Russell Wilson last year, and they might do something similar with Aaron Rodgers this year.
