The Carolina Panthers have re-signed Andy Dalton to a two-year deal on Tuesday, the team announced.

Dalton was set to become an unrestricted free agent in March, but he will now remain in Carolina.

ESPN's Adam Schefter further reported that it is an "$8 million deal that includes $6 million guaranteed and has a max value of $10 million."

"Panthers QB Bryce Young has developed a close relationship with Dalton, and now the two continue to get to work together," Schefter wrote.

The Panthers signed Dalton in 2023, and he was actually named the starter of the team during the offseason. However, Bryce Young, who was the first-overall draft pick, ultimately took over the role right before the start of the preseason.

This past season, Dalton took over as the starter for Young, who was benched following the team's 0-2 start. He went 1-4, throwing for 989 yards and seven touchdowns with six interceptions. Young took over that starting role once again in October.

It was a good move by Carolina to lock down Dalton considering his relationship with Young.
