The Chicago Bears are set to enter into a new, exciting, era after hiring new head coach Ben Johnson.

The excitement already seems to be through the roof, although some fans aren't buying into the hype until they see the team take the field.

Either way, the Johnson Era in Chicago is going to be a great thing for this city and this franchise, but Johnson's arrival will bring one hardship for some long-time fans.

The Bears announced on Wednesday that season-ticket holders will see an increase by an average of 10% for the 2025 season. According to The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs, the average increase for the 2024 season was 8% for season tickets.

In the letter sent to season-ticket holders, team president Kevin Warren cited "market dynamics, industry trends and a strong home schedule" as part of the reasoning for the price increase in 2025/

"The future is bright, and I am confident we are on target to build the Chicago Bears into a championship-caliber franchise celebrating sustained success our fans have earned and deserve," Warren wrote. "Please know that your energy creates a home-field advantage that is the best in sports. We need you to stand tall with our franchise and our players."

After seeing an 8% increase and finishing 5-12 in 2024, fans might be upset about another raise in cost for the tickets, but the arrival of Johnson should quell some concerns raised by those long-terms fans.

"We are confident this decision will positively impact this franchise for many years," Warren added. "Coach Johnson has assembled a first-class staff and together, they are determined to teach, coach, and empower our football team. General manager Ryan Poles and coach Johnson are building a strong and positive working relationship, setting the foundation for future success."

Pairing Johnson with second-year quarterback Caleb Williams is also expected to create an immediate long-term difference for the Bears' offense while veteran defensive-mind Dennis Allen will lead a unit set to return all 11 starters.

Ultimately, we don't know how this new era will work out until we see it on the field. The Bears will host eight games at Soldier Field in 2025, the official dates and schedule haven't been released yet, but we do know who those home opponents will be.
