NFL Increases Salary Cap For 2025
The NFL today informed teams that the 2025 per-team salary cap will fall in the range of $277.5 million to $281.5 million, way up from last year's $255.4 million. Cap will have increased by more than $53 million over the last two years.

The Steelers were flirting with around $40m in cap space, barring any other roster cuts, and before the salary cap news on Wednesday. Now, the team will have roughly $60m in cap space, and that's before they release players that have writing on the wall in terms of their future in Pittsburgh.
It should be noted that there are a lot of questions surrounding what's next for T.J. Watt in Pittsburgh, and as he approaches the final year of his contract, an extension could be in line.
There is also of course, the QB situation in Pittsburgh, which barring a rookie starter, is going to cost them money in some form or fashion this offseason. Even still, the team has to go all in at WR.
And let's be clear, even if Tee Higgins and Chris Godwin do wind up signing deals with their current teams, there are still other free agents (Stefon Diggs, Hollywood Brown) but a trade is a real possibility.
There have been rumblings about Tyreek Hill and his future with the Miami Dolphins. Questions about Davante Adams' future with the New York Jets, and of course a Cooper Kupp or Deebo Samuel trade among others.
This news proves that the Steelers have more than enough money to solidify their WR corps. There is no reason to not trade for, sign, and draft a WR over the next few months.
Doing anything less would be a disservice to the fanbase and the franchise.
