Oklahoma Sooners land in the top eight for a player in the 2026 class they could desperately use

The Oklahoma Sooners faced the barrelling issue of having one of the worst offenses in the SEC last year, and it just so happened to be in their first season in the SEC. And, in the SEC, you just can't have a bad offense. The entire league has a good offense, practically. Being good on just one side of the ball will not get the job done.

And we saw that. Part of the discrepancies on offense stemmed from the team having some of the worst injury luck you will ever see. That, the scheme being bad, and the depth at key positions like wide receiver and offensive line were bad. That cannot happen again.

So, while the 2025 recruiting class is done and those kids are pretty much getting ready to finish their senior year, or the transfer players, are already on campus, the Sooners have to hope it works out well with that class. The 2026 class now gets the attention.

In their 2026 class, the Sooners only have four players committed, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Teams like Ohio State, who just won the National Championship, also have four committed players.

Luckily, the Sooners are getting closer to landing some pretty good players, and have even ended up as a top-eight team for one elite prospect.

Sooners are in the top eight for OL Felix Ojo

Felix Ojo is a standout junior offensive tackle from Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield, Texas, in the class of 2026. At 6’7” and 280 pounds, he’s a big, strong, and athletic player who excels at pass protection and run blocking. He’s a four-star recruit, ranked No. 5 among offensive tackles and No. 46 overall by On3, with high ratings from 247Sports and ESPN.

He’s received over 30 scholarship offers from top college football programs, including Texas, Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Ole Miss. He recently narrowed his options to these eight schools. Ojo was also picked for the 2025 Navy All-American Bowl, a rare honor for a junior, and performed well against senior talent. He also competes in track and field, throwing the discus 119-4 as a sophomore.

Scouts praise his versatility and physical play, making him a top recruit. Texas and Ohio State are leading contenders for his commitment, thanks to their focus on him and strong programs. As he enters his senior year, Ojo is a key prospect whose decision will strengthen his future team’s offensive line.

Hopefully, that team is the Sooners.
