The Oregon Ducks are on their way to another elite recruiting class, and no position group is poised to be a bigger potential strength for Dan Lanning and his squad than their offensive linemen. It's certainly a need — Oregon has been leaning on the transfer portal a little more than they would likely prefer in recent years.
Going after the top offensive linemen in the 2026 recruiting class is going to be tough. One that they already have a verbal commitment from is Mater Dei's Kodi Greene, but it looks like Oregon is going to have some competition.
Greene is currently ranked as the 12th-overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, and is the No. 3 offensive tackle behind two other Oregon targets, Jackson Cantwell and Immanuel Iheanacho.
For now, Oregon remains very happy with his choice to stick with Oregon, according to a report from On3.
"My relationship with the coaches, especially Coach (A’lique) Terry,” Greene said. “From day one they’ve said I’m a priority and they continue to show it. Every time I go there I truly feel I’m at home.”
Greene is getting a lot of attention from Texas, and there's plenty of reasons why they are an option to consider.
“Something that keeps me excited about Texas is the path they’re going on,” Greene said. “They continue to get better every year. And Coach (Kyle) Flood does a great job with the offensive line. They know how to produce NFL players. They had 11 players in last year’s draft. And they are known for producing NFL offensive linemen. And just saw that four offensive linemen were invited to this year’s (combine). That’s impressive.”
This year, Oregon will be right up there with what Texas did last year. They have 12 players slated to attend the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. While Greene is getting a lot of attention, he sounds like he's still rock solid in his commitment to Oregon.
“It would be extremely tough for another program to flip me from Oregon and I don’t see it happening,” he said.
For Lanning and the Ducks, that's great news.
