Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide have been dominating on the recruiting trail ever since the new staff got fully up to speed amid spring 2024 practice action. Since then Alabama has brought in 19 four and five star freshman recruits, plus a handful of strong instantly contributing transfers for 2025. This offseason DeBoer and his crew are pushing hard to do it again.

Kaiden Hall, Four Star Safety Recruit

A top target for Alabama and one of the best players in the nation is narrowing down his recruiting search as of this week and the Crimson Tide look in good position to potentially land him. Elite Top 100 overall safety recruit Kaiden Hall announced his official summer visits, and he'll be heading to Penn State, Florida, Florida State, Alabama, and Oklahoma, all in within about a month of each other this summer.

Kaiden Hall burst onto the elite recruiting scene in early 2024 following an impressive sophomore season where he impressed on both sides of the ball, going from unrated to a strong four star candidate according to multiple recruiting services. Several of the top schools in the nation began offering him scholarships, Alabama included (in March of 2024).

Since then Alabama, Florida, and Georgia have been pushing for him the hardest with several unofficial visits each, but Oklahoma and Florida State have come on strong lately (especially the Sooners with their late January visit). Georgia looks like they may be out of the running unless something changes. Penn State is a bit of an odd late entry finalist given his lack of in-person momentum with them, but we'll see if he logs additional touch points with them this spring.

Hall has already attended Alabama's Junior Day this spring and could visit again ahead of his final official, but it's still going to be tough to beat out Florida for his services. Florida head coach Billy Napier just visited him ahead of Hall's attending the Gators' January, and his latest comments make it clear he's bullish on them (plus the Seminoles too).

Hall has consistently talked about the importance of player development and the trajectory of the programs he is considering, so those two variables are likely quite important to him. Florida State (especially) and Alabama trended in the wrong direction this past season, while the Gators won four straight with their five star quarterback DJ Lagway down the stretch last fall.

Kalen DeBoer and company are likely going to need to sell Hall on two things: immediate starting opportunity and player development. That's where they will likely have an edge over the Gators and Seminoles.

Alabama has sent 25 players to the NFL Draft in the last three years. Florida and Florida State have posted less than that combined. Yes, Kalen DeBoer isn't directly responsible for those picks, but his most recent class of players from his time at Washington sent 10 players to the NFL Draft in on year alone.

As for the playing time piece, Malachi Moore just departed for the league, and Keon Sabb (who returned to Alabama mainly due to injury) will almost assuredly be gone after 2025 as well. Former five star cornerback-turned-safety Zavier Mincey and Bray Hubbard will likely still be around. Incoming four star safety Ivan Taylor should be in the mix as well.

However, Mincey likely plays the versatile Malachi Moore role (slot, box, free safety mix) while Hubbard could be relegated to depth player status even this season as he isn't quite as dynamic. So, what doest that mean? Hall could immediately rotate in alongside Taylor and Mincey as a true freshman.

There's still plenty of work to be done before landing Kaiden Hall, but Kalen DeBoer and his staff are clearly building momentum and likely have the best pitch among his finalist schools.
