Ohio State has been busy putting together their 2025 coaching staff since they won the National Championship. The Buckeyes have had OC Chip Kelly, DC Jim Knowles, and OL coach Justin Frye all opt to take different jobs.

This has left the Buckeyes having to put together some key parts of the staff, also while they were on the road at the end of January.

Though Frye made the jump to the NFL, Ohio State’s staff made sure to stay in contact with one key recruit for 2026. Frye was recruiting four-star OT Felix Ohio and the Buckeyes have already let him know he is still a target for them. Expect new OL coach Tyler Bowen to pick up on that recruitment

“What stands out about Ohio State is the culture and how much of a priority I am for them. Especially when Coach Frye left, the whole offensive staff called me that morning letting me know that they’re gonna find someone new quick and that I’m still a top priority,” Ojo said, via On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Ohio State has the luxury of multiple quality offensive linemen being in the state for the class of 2026. The Buckeyes feel good about landing a couple of those players, which allows them to take big swings nationally. Ojo and No. 1 OT Jackson Cantwell are two players that the Buckeyes would love to have in this class.

Ojo specifically will take an official visit to the Buckeyes down the road and Ohio State is viewed to be a top threat in his recruitment. According to 247 Sports Composite, Ojo is the No. 8 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 78 overall player.

The Texas native has nearly 45 offers on his recruitment resume and is being compared to Alabama’s Elijah Pritchett by 247 Sports:

“Tall offensive tackle prospect who's very young for his recruiting class with a July DOB. Verified at 6-foot-6, 272 pounds post-junior season with adequate length numbers in arm (33 5/8) and wingspan (81 1/2). Owns a lean, athletic look and plays with impressive functional athleticism and movement ability. Live evaluation during 2025 Navy Army All-American Bowl revealed a consistent mean streak in pads. Stood out physically, athletically, and in field demeanor despite being among the youngest competitors in the event. Hand placement/technique have improved from sophomore to junior year, along with ability to stand up to POA strength. Gets good extension and uses length to his advantage. Still developing consistent pop; can be grabby, but looks to finish with authority. Plays upright at times and can show more frequent bend ability. Will continue to bulk given immense frame potential. Bolsters athletic profile with discus reps. Capacities for strength and power are high given excellent physical tools and relative youth. Looks like one of the top OT prospects in the 2026 class with potential to become a multi-year high-major tackle with ample pro potential.” — Gabe Brooks, 247 Sports

Expect Ohio State to have a chance to lane Ojo in 2026. The Buckeyes do not yet have an offensive line commitment in the class and just four players committed overall. It is still early and both of those things will change before long.
