The 2024 season for the Florida State Seminoles was terrible, one that was so bad it really doesn't need to be talked about or harped on any more than we all already do. It was the worst season the Seminoles, a historic football school, had had since the 1970s. But, since it was so bad and miserable, why not think back about the 2023 season the year before, and how fun that team was to watch?

In 2023, the Seminoles were undefeated in the regular season and won the ACC championship. Now, what happened from there on out doesn't need to be said, or some fans may be triggered. But, it was a great year nonetheless with great players.

Of course, fan favorite Jared Verse, and the star that he was and still is, was amazing. He was one of the best players in the country. And in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams, it has only translated exactly over how we all thought it would. He won the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, proving he's one of the best young talents in the league.

He was so good, that the NFL just went and sent him a pretty sweet gift.

Verse was gifted a pretty sweet diamond chain by the NFL that reads "DROY." It's truly beautiful, too.

Verse had an impressive two-year stint at Florida State after transferring from the University at Albany. In his first year with the Seminoles in 2022, he played in 12 games, starting 11, and recorded 48 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and 9 sacks, plus a fumble recovery.

His performance earned him first-team All-ACC honors and second-team All-American recognition by The Athletic. Verse played a key role in FSU's 10-3 season, marking the program's first 10-win year since 2016.

In 2023, Verse remained dominant, starting all 13 games he played. He recorded 41 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, three pass breakups, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a blocked kick. He earned first-team All-ACC honors again and was named a first-team All-American by the AFCA.

His contributions helped FSU achieve a 13-0 regular season and win the ACC Championship. After the season, he opted out of the Orange Bowl to focus on the NFL Draft, where he was picked 19th overall by the Los Angeles Rams in 2024. Over his 25 games at FSU, Verse totaled 89 tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss, and 18 sacks.

In the NFL, Verse played in all 17 games, starting 16. He recorded 66 total tackles, including 36 solo tackles, and led the team with 11 tackles for loss. Verse also had 4.5 sacks, 18 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two passes defensed. He also had a memorable play against the Philadelphia Eagles where he jumped over their offensive line in a Superman pose.

It's safe to say Florida State misses him.
