The full schedule release for the 2025 season is almost here, and in fact, throughout the week, their streaming partners will be releasing select games. For the Denver Broncos, we already know every opponent that they are set to play in 2025. But we don't know when they will play that team or what streaming service it will be on if it's a primetime game.
We also know that the Broncos have several opportunities to prove themselves in 2025. They play around nine games that will allow them to show that they can be one of the best teams in the league heading into Year 2 with Bo Nix under center.
Denver is set to play the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, the team that played Philly in the NFC Championship in the Washington Commanders, the Kansas City Chiefs twice, the Cincinnati Bengals, and a few other teams who are the real deal.
The Broncos made the playoffs last year, but were blown out in the first game by the Buffalo Bills. Throughout the year, and certainly after that loss that ended their season, the Broncos were often labeled as a team that shouldn't have made the postseason.
So, getting a chance to show and prove yourself in Week 1 would be pretty big, right? Well, it's not happening, at least not in the way it should have been. The NFL just robbed the Broncos of a shot at beating the best team in the NFL in Week 1.
On Monday, part of the schedule was released, and it appears the Eagles will open the season on Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys. But according to Ari Meirov, the Broncos were a team that was being considered, among a handful of other teams. The Broncos should have been that team.
Now, I'm not going to say Denver would have beaten Philly, but that would have given them a chance in Week 1, the first game of the season, to show everyone that they are for real. That would have been likely the two best defensive teams going at each other for the first game of the season.
But the NFL robbed Denver and chose "America's Team."
