The Los Angeles Rams have wrapped up their 2025 NFL Draft class and are mostly settled with their undrafted free agent class.

Despite cornerback being the most frequently-mocked position for the Rams leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, the Rams didn't select a single one. In fact, they (as of the time of this writing) haven't even signed one as an undrafted free agent either.

While it may endorse their current cornerback room, it's hard to imagine a team that saw its struggles defending the pass last season simply choosing to ignore it entirely. That means they have a plan to add to this room at some point, creating plenty of speculation.

That speculation revolves around a potential reunion with former superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey won a Super Bowl with the Rams and was the best cornerback in the NFL for his entire tenure in Los Angeles.

However, he and the Miami Dolphins have seemingly reached an agreement, as Ramsey no longer wants to play for Miami, and the Dolphins have agreed to let him play elsewhere this season.

When asked about a potential reunion with Ramsey, Rams head coach Sean McVay had plenty to say about it happening:

"I think we're still getting through that process. A part of getting through the draft is also when it actually officially ends and then going through the undrafted free agent process. Like we talked about, there still are a lot of layers, contract, compensation and different things like that. There is a tremendous amount of appreciation that we have for Jalen, the time that we spent. He and I have really stayed in touch. I know it's the same thing with Aubrey [Pleasant] and some of our other coaches. There’s a lot of familiarity, but we're probably in the same position when we talked about it the other day just because there are some things that we still need to take care of to be able to truly get through the draft from the totality of it all."

Too Long; Didn't Read: It seems pretty obvious the Rams want to bring Jalen Ramsey back and Ramsey wants to be back, but the Rams are waiting for the dust to settle on the rookie process before pursuing a trade.

This works out, as NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the Dolphins might want to wait and make a post-June 1st trade to ease the financial burden of such a move.

If the Rams made a move for Ramsey, they would only be on the hook for a $9.8M cap hit in 2025 and would likely rework his deal for future years to drop his cap hit over time.

Ramsey isn't the top cornerback in the league anymore, but he is still one of the best in the game and would completely change the face of LA's secondary. The Rams' zone-heavy scheme can mask where age has impacted his athleticism and allow his elite awareness and ball skills as a top coverage option to shine through.

The Rams don't have a cornerback who is remotely close to the same tier as Ramsey is, even at 31 years old. If the team is serious about another Super Bowl push, it makes sense that they'd be in hot pursuit to reunite with him.
