FOXBOROUGH, Mass – Across his eight seasons in the NFL, Joshua Dobbs has spent time with many different NFL teams. And that means he's also gotten to work with numerous different quarterbacks.

But, when speaking with reporters for the first time since signing with the New England Patriots this offseason, he revealed that there is one quarterback who has remained at the top of his list.

“One of my faves and a familiar face up here is Jacoby (Brissett)," Dobbs said. "He had two stints here. And for me, I got a chance to spend time with him in Cleveland. And at that point, he had played much more football than I had played.

Dobbs signed with the Cleveland Browns in 2022, which was the same year that Brissett served as their starter for the first 11 games due to Deshaun Watson's suspension.

"I really hadn’t played much football from a starting capacity and to be able to learn from him, like see how you approach every single week, reps in the offseason, how he engaged with his teammates, it was a really good, healthy quarterback group," Dobbs added.

During that time there was one thing that always stood out to him and he has bought that with him to each and every team.

“And that’s why I’ve enjoyed at the stops that I feel have been the most productive for me is a healthy quarterback room," he explained. "Whoever the guy is out there on Sunday, it’s everyone’s job in that room to make sure they’re supported and ready to go, ready to play.

He has come in to serve as the backup to Drake Maye, but more importantly, to serve as a veteran presence in the room.

"And obviously, from my role, it’s ensuring that as we’re in the offense together, Drake feels comfortable and can go out there and play at a high level,” he said. "We’re just trying to be the best quarterbacks we can be on a daily basis right from our leadership, from how we handle ourselves in the locker room, from our preparation, and ultimately, how we perform and compete on the field, no matter who’s in there. I think that’s what makes a healthy room

"That makes a hell of a team," he continued. "I think coach Vrabel has done a great job of establishing that culture and identity.”
