We've known the Washington Commanders' 2025 opponents for awhile now, but how the order stacks up is more important than anything else.
Thanks to the official 2025 schedule release, we now know how the deck is stacked for Jayden Daniels and Co. as they look to build off an incredible 2024 season.
"It's a solid talking point for a day or two and then it kind of goes away," Dan Quinn told reporters when asked about the schedule release. "But it's fun, you know, to have that, and then you just kind of get back to it. But I love the fact that they built it up and have different things, but we know who we're playing so that's not as you know, big of a secret. It's just fun to go through."
So, with that being said, let's dive into the Commanders' official schedule for the 2025 season.

Biggest Games on the Commanders' 2025 Schedule
Commanders at Eagles: Both games against the Eagles are going to be crucial, but that Week 18 matchup could be a potential battle for the NFCE crown. Either way, some kind of stakes will be on the line, which immediately makes it one of the biggest matchups of the year.
Commanders at Chiefs: Typically, an AFC contest isn't considered an NFC team's biggest matchup due to the fact that it's not an intraconference matchup. But, we're talking about traveling to Arrowhead Stadium and playing what could stilfl be considered a dynasty in the Chiefs if they win another Super Bowl this year. Add in the fact that it's the second of back-to-back road games, as well as a primetime contest on Monday night, it's easy to see why this is a huge game for Washington.
Commanders vs. Lions: This is Washington's chance to prove last year's playoff win wasn't a fluke – not saying it is or even suggesting that, but the Lions defense was completely racked by injuries by the time these two teams met in the postseason and that definitely played a factor in the outcome. Watching the Commanders take on a assumedly-healthy Lions squad is a great measuring stick game and should have big playoff ramifications.
Commanders at Packers: Not only is it a game against a tough NFC opponent, but Washington travels to Green Bay on a short week to play on Thursday Night Football in Week 2.

Strength of Schedule (based off Vegas win totals, not 2024 record)
Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis does this cool thing every year where he ranks teams' strength of schedule based off Vegas' projected win totals for the upcoming season. He doesn't base it off the standard last-year's-record model and it makes a lot more sense, because of all the change teams go through during the offseason.
Sharp has the Commanders' SOS as the 14-toughest – almost right in the middle of the pack. The NFC East has one of the toughest strength of schedules, as the Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys all respectively rank last, fourth, and 11th in terms of difficulty:
