There has been mixed reviews when it comes to the New Orleans Saints' 2025 NFL Draft class. Kellen Moore is in his first offseason as an NFL head coach. One big-time football mind has faith in this year's rookie class who will wear the black and gold.
ESPN analyst praises Kellen Moore's draft class
Louis Riddick is a big believer in New Orleans' first draft class under Kellen Moore. Kelvin Banks Jr. was an impressive prospect to the long-time talent evaluator, and he sees QB Tyler Shough as a clear fit for Moore's offensive scheme.
"If there is anybody that is tailor-made for the pro game to protect the quarterback's blindside or whatever side you need protected, it's Kelvin Banks Jr."
"Just watch him (Tyler Shough) play – he can do everything in the pro game that Kellen Moore is going to ask him to do and Moore is the perfect coach for him."
Riddick also discussed the selection of safety Jonas Sanker by the Saints on day two as well. His inclusion was with some non-obvious prospects that landed in good situations for their NFL futures.

Sanker was an underrated defensive prospect during this draft cycle, and he can learn plenty from Tyrann Mathieu and Justin Reid at his position.
The Saints need production from this rookie class in year one – plain and simple. Their roster is fairly thin, on both sides of the football, for the new staff. We will see if the support from Riddick turns out to be correct in due time.
