Donald Trump was one of many who were keeping an eye on the 2025 NFL Draft. And he had something to say about one of the most controversial topi.

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders was expected by the public to be a top five pick. However, he slid down in the draft, having to watch five quarterbacks get selected in front of him.

And on Friday, while Rounds 2 and 3 were going on, the President of the United States commented on all the NFL teams passing on Sanders.

"What is wrong with NFL owners, are they stupid? Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was ever greater in the NFL. He's also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be "picked" IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father," Trump posted on Truth Social.

Sanders was ultimately selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round, who had passed over the Colorado quarterback in the third round to take Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel. But, they circled back around and actually traded up for Sanders.

So, on Monday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked about Trump's Truth Social post, with a reporter questioning if the President "thinks he deserves credit for Sanders getting picked?"

"Hey, All I will say is the President put out a statement, and a few rounds later he was drafted, so I think the facts speak for themselves on that one," Leavitt responded with a smile on her face.
