Among the many undrafted free agents the Denver Broncos have signed is offensive lineman Clay Webb out of Jacksonville State.

Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 312 pounds, Webb has experience playing both guard and center. He has six collegiate seasons under his belt. His first two came with the Georgia Bulldogs, but he struggled to earn playing time. In 2021 Webb transferred to Jacksonville State, and was named First-Team All-CUSA in 2024.

Before college, he attended and played offensive line at Oxford High School in Alabama. While there, Webb was accused of being a part of a bullying incident, which led to a federal lawsuit against him that is still ongoing. Lily Jackson of AL.com reported on the story back in 2020.

"The plaintiff, a minor referred to under the fictitious name John Doe in the lawsuit, alleges fellow students allowed him and encouraged him to unknowingly drink from a Powerade bottle that allegedly contained Clay Webb’s semen, according to the lawsuit.," Jackson wrote.

Webb was projected by many experts to be a mid-to-late-round pick during the 2025 NFL Draft, but the lawsuit is likely why he ended up going undrafted. The Broncos have certainly done their due diligence of deeply looking into the matter. They, nor Webb, have commented on the lawsuit.

What comes ultimately comes of it all could decide Webb's future in the NFL. As for on the field matters, Denver does have a need for quality depth within the interior of its offensive line. Starting center Luke Wattenberg is entering the final year of his contract, so it may be best that the Broncos give Webb a look at that position first. His versatility could give him a leg up in competing for a roster spot.
